medical technology

Medical engineering, also known as biomedical engineering, describes the use of engineering principles and rules in the field of medicine. It combines knowledge from engineering with medical specialist knowledge of physicians, nursing, and other specialists, for the improvement of diagnostics, treatment, nursing care, surgery, rehabilitation, and quality of life of healthy persons. An important part of medical engineering is the production of implants and other medical products–from the simple bone screw to plates for repairing bone fractures to complete joints or systems for the repair of the spine. Based on biocompatibility, work pieces for medical engineering are often made of titanium or PEEK.
